Free PDF tools — merge, compress, split and sign

Choose the operation that preserves what matters in your document. Rearranging PDF pages, compressing a scan and extracting text solve different problems; they should not all flatten your file into pictures.

Which workflow fits your task?

Combine complete documents

Use Merge PDF when whole files are already in the right internal order. For a mixed bundle of photos and PDFs, use the organizer to inspect and reorder individual pages before exporting.

Extract, split or rotate pages

Select the pages you need in the organizer and export one PDF, or a ZIP of separate pages. Use Rotate PDF when every page needs the same turn. Keep the original; removing a page is not secure redaction.

Reduce a scanned document’s size

The scan compressor rasterizes pages and reduces image resolution and JPEG quality. Compare small text and numbers before sending the copy. It removes searchable text and may increase the size of a text-based PDF.

Add a mark or an opening password

Draw or import a visible signature for an unsigned, supported PDF. That mark is not a digital certificate. Password protection is a separate operation; unlocking requires a password you already know and permission to modify the file.

Practical guides

Which PDF tool keeps text selectable?

Merging and supported page-organization operations keep PDF text as text. The visible-signature tool also retains the original page text. Scan compression creates image-only pages. Each workspace lists its own limits and rejects unsupported structures where required.

Are my PDFs uploaded?

The tools listed in the local section run in your browser. The separately marked PDF to Word converter uploads files to the existing conversion service. Choose a local workflow when uploading a document is inappropriate.
