What formatting does this preserve?
Body paragraph order, explicit outline headings 1–6 including heading styles, and simple unmerged tables. Bold, italics, automatic list numbers, indentation, font choices and page layout are not preserved. Headers, footers, comments, footnotes, pictures and text boxes are excluded. This is an editable content draft, not a complete DOCX archive.
How are table headers handled?
By default, generated Column 1, Column 2 labels keep every source row as table data. If every table has a true header row, choose the first-row option. Multiline cells use <br> and tabs use a character reference, which require a compatible Markdown reader. Merged, nested and offset tables are rejected.
Will links or HTML in my document run?
The website only displays plain Markdown source. Hyperlinks become their labels, and source Markdown and HTML characters are escaped rather than converted into images or raw HTML. No remote images or linked documents are fetched. Review the downloaded source before publishing it in another system.
Which DOCX files work?
One standard transitional DOCX up to 10 MB, with up to 20 simple tables, 10,000 table cells and one million body characters. Resolve tracked changes, hidden text, fields, equations and imported alternative content first. Legacy DOC, macro files and encrypted documents are not supported. The preview is capped at 50,000 characters; the download is complete.
