Does this convert a whole Word document?

No. It extracts actual body tables from a standard DOCX, one table per worksheet. Paragraphs, pictures, headers, footers, text boxes, footnotes, comments, automatic list numbering and page layout are excluded. A table pictured in a scan is not an actual Word table. The result states how many body paragraphs were excluded.

Will identifiers or formulas change?

All cells are written as Excel text cells, including 00123, long identifiers, dates and text beginning with =. No formula is created or executed and no numeric type is guessed. If you need calculations, deliberately convert the relevant columns to numbers in Excel after checking the result.

Which tables are supported?

Up to 20 rectangular, unmerged body tables, with 1,000 rows and 100 columns each and 10,000 cells total. Nested, merged and offset cells are rejected rather than guessed. Each cell is limited to 32,767 characters. Resolve tracked changes, fields, hidden text and equations in Word first.

Which files and downloads are accepted?

One DOCX up to 10 MB, standard transitional Office Open XML only. DOC, DOCM, encrypted files, embedded objects and macros are not supported. The archive is checked before parsing, with 200 entries and 50 MB expanded limits. Preview shows the first table’s first 30 rows and 10 columns; XLSX includes all accepted tables.
