What does this compare?
Paste drafts, notes, code or extracted document text. Line mode makes larger revisions easy to scan; character mode exposes punctuation and whitespace changes. There is no PDF or DOCX parser here. Use image OCR for a scan, then verify the extracted text before comparing.
Are spaces and Chinese characters checked?
Yes. Character mode compares Unicode code points, including spaces and punctuation. Emoji can contain multiple code points. CRLF and CR line endings are normalized to LF in both modes; other whitespace, case and the presence of a final newline stay significant. No other Unicode normalization is applied.
What is in the downloaded report?
The JSON report contains complete change objects and counts, including unchanged content. Added and removed text can reconstruct the normalized revised and original texts. It is a review record, not an executable patch or a formatting-preserving document.
How large can a comparison be?
Each side accepts 100,000 JavaScript characters, up to 400 KB in UTF-8. Very different inputs may reach the processing or display limit; compare smaller sections or use line mode. Results are never silently truncated.
