Separate dimensions from file size
Pixels describe width and height. KB describes encoded bytes. In this workspace, 1 KB is 1,000 bytes: a 200 KB limit means at most 200,000 bytes. Another site may use a different convention or additional image checks. Copy its requirements carefully and test the final download there.
Choose the layout that matches the requirement
Fit within bounds keeps the whole image and preserves its proportions; one edge may be smaller than the requested box. White padding creates an exact-size canvas without cutting content. Center crop fills that canvas by removing edges. Do not choose crop for a document if it could remove names, dates, numbers or page corners.
An example: 600 × 800 pixels, maximum 200 KB
Enter width 600, height 800 and maximum size 200 KB. If the full original must remain visible, choose white padding. If the receiving site requires a full-bleed portrait, crop may be appropriate, but inspect the face and edges. These are example settings, not an official specification for any application or ID document.
Review every result, not just the batch average
The workspace tries up to nine JPEG quality settings without silently changing the requested dimensions. Check each preview and its size status. Detailed textures and scan noise may not fit a small byte budget without visible degradation. If a result is still over the limit, make an intentional adjustment to the permitted dimensions or limit and process it again. There is no honest guarantee that every combination is achievable.
Watch for color, transparency and repeated compression
Outputs are JPEGs. Transparent areas become white, and browser encoding may alter color or fine detail. Keep the original PNG if transparency matters. Start from the original image when trying different settings instead of recompressing an already compressed JPEG repeatedly.
Download and verify the file you will actually submit
Use individual downloads when correcting one image, or name the batch and download a ZIP. Open the downloaded JPEG, confirm dimensions and file size, and check text or facial detail at a useful zoom level. A green status checks your chosen settings; it is not a promise that another website will accept the file.
Keep the workflow local
The image workspace accepts static JPG and PNG, up to 20 files, 20 MB each, 80 MB total and 24 megapixels per image. Processing stays in the tab’s memory without an image-upload endpoint, account, advertising script or persistent file history. Clear the workspace or leave the page to discard it. If you need one PDF afterward, download the checked images and open the PDF and photo organizer.
