Which format should I choose?

JPG is useful for opaque photos. PNG preserves decoded pixels without lossy compression and supports alpha. WebP supports alpha with lossy image compression and can be useful for websites. Results vary with image content; format conversion does not guarantee a smaller file.

Will transparent areas turn black?

Keep alpha preserves transparency for PNG and WebP. JPEG cannot store alpha and uses white in that mode. You can deliberately flatten onto white or black for any format. Review the output against your intended page background.

Are original details and metadata retained?

Pixel dimensions and decoded orientation are retained. JPEG and WebP quality settings affect visible pixels; PNG cannot restore detail already lost from a source JPEG. Metadata is not copied. Color handling follows your browser and may differ from a color-managed desktop workflow.

What are the batch limits?

One to twenty static images, 20 MB per file, 60 MB total bytes and 60 megapixels total. Each image is capped at 24 megapixels and a 12,000-pixel edge. Animated files, HEIC, SVG and unsupported formats are rejected. ZIP entries have numbered names to avoid collisions.
